BC Alpine Dryland Training

Ski racing is a sport with many variables and dynamics. Quantifying an athlete's physical preparedness can be useful in preventing injuries, designing conditioning programs and preparing an athlete for the rigors of travel and competition. The BC Alpine protocol uses tests which are specific to the sport of ski racing and to the age groups covered by the BC Alpine age groups. These tests aim to measure physical parameters important for success in ski racing and are widely accepted within alpine racing and other sports. The physiological parameters evaluated include flexibility, aerobic power, lower body power, upper strength, anaerobic endurance, abdominal strength, balance and agility.
