FLASH QUOTES – BCST Men’s team

Nick Cooper, Men’s Coach:
“The plan for this first series was to focus on the process and get prepared for the season. Of course we would have liked better results but I am happy with the way we battled through this week and improved each day. We will continue to train down here this week and prepare for NJRs at Loveland next weekend and copper Nor-Am in two weeks. I am excited to continue to ramp up and know the guys are hungry to ski like they can in a race environment.”

Patrick Carry, Fernie
“Although it may not have shown up on the results sheet, I think it was still a solid race series for me. I'm happy with the approach that I took into the races, and had some awesome sections of skiing. It has been a great experience racing at this level and seeing what it takes to make it in a field among some of the world's best.”

Broderick Thompson, Whistler
"It has been awesome to be down here in Loveland with such a stacked field, seeing the competition and knowing I am competitive is a big confidence booster. Although I had a tough series staying on my feet for two runs, I feel strong on my skis and can't wait for our next races. All of the boys have their sights set high and are in good spirits for the near future down here in Colorado.

Martin Grasic, Invermere
“Great to have the first races under my belt. I feel like I keep improving every race so I'm looking to the rest of the season.”

Brodie Seger, West Vancouver
“These races were quite challenging because of tough conditions and a stacked field, but it feels good to have the first race series under my belt. Even though it was difficult to put a clean run together, it was a great experience and it was very encouraging to be able to compare our skiing to the top athletes on the circuit.”

Dominic Untergerger, Revelstoke
“High bib numbers, adverse conditions and a stacked field made for a tough weekend of racing. Although I never managed to put down a clean run, or get a second run for that matter, I consider the races to be a success. I'm happy with my approach to each run and feel confident. I know I'm skiing solid and can be competitive in the coming races. I'm looking forward to the next couple training blocks and the later Nor-Am starts.”
