For over five and a half years we've had the exact same E-Update format, so coming into our 2008-2009 season we decided that “Enough is Enough” and have made a paradigm shift not only in how the E-Update looks, but also what sort of content is delivered.
If you’re reading this text then you've already noticed the first change to the E-Update - the look. There are however, a few other changes which I consider potentially even more monumental.
I think that the biggest change overall is the content. We are now only putting one section of “new content” in the E-Update, and that is the section you are currently reading. “New content” meaning content that doesn’t already show up on our news in the website and rss feed. Below this section you will find news articles we used to include in the update now as links that you can open up and read. By integrating the newsletter with our other existing news delivery systems we hope to increase the reach and consistency of our message as well as simplify the process of delivery.
That brings me to another big change. That change is WHAT content is delivered. Look to the right of this text and you will notice that we will now be delivering links to upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, posted results, updated forms and files as well as other things in the future. Think of this as your “At a glance” view of what’s new or coming up.
Lastly, we want to make sure you receive all the latest stories, results and other valuable information on a timely basis, so beginning today, you can expect to receive your copy of the BC Alpine E-Update at the beginning of every week!
To summarize, what we hope to accomplish with our new E-Update is create something you can use to easily access current news articles, posted results (when applicable), upcoming events, volunteer requests, new forms/files and lots more.
Welcome to our newly designed Bell E-Update. We hope you like it!
