| • BC ALPINE FEES FOR 2005/06 | At the recent Alpine Canada Board meeting, the (ACA) Board passed a motion to increase membership fees to be paid to Alpine Canada (ACA) via the Provincial Sport Organizations (BC Alpine). At the BC Alpine 2005 Spring General Meeting in Kamloops, we did not anticipate this increase and have just recently learned of the fee changes. These increases may influence how your club structures its program fees for the 2005/06 season. The BC Alpine fees will only increase to cover the Alpine Canada fee increases and all revenue generated from the increased BC Alpine fee will be dedicated to the ACA increase. In other words, there will be no net gain to BC Alpine as a result of this increase.
The increase has been structured as follows: - $1.00 increase to BC Alpine Membership Fee - $1.00 increase to Competitor Card Fee
Please note the new BC Alpine fees as outlined below: All Members, Coaches & Officials: $24.00 (includes GST) E1 & E2 (ANGSL): $44.00 (24.00 + 20.00) no GST K1: $78.88 (24.00 + 54.00) no GST K2: $88.00 (24.00 + 64.00) no GST J1/J2/SR: $102.00 (24.00 + 78.00) includes GST Masters (not on NPL): $40.00 (24.00 + 16.00) includes GST FIS Registration: $407.00 (includes GST)
Note – The FIS Registration procedure will continue to flow through BC Alpine. First year FIS athletes do not have accident insurance until November 1, 2005. Accident insurance can be purchased through ACA to cover the period from August 1, 2005 to November 1, 2005 for a $160.00 charge per athlete or athletes may explore other forms of coverage for training outside the country.
Other Fees: - Club Directors and Officers Insurance: TBD - Entry Level FIS Calendar Fees: $250 - FIS Series Calendar Fees: $550
Homologation Fees: - One trail - one discipline: $325 - Two disciplines - same trail: $325 - Three of four disciplines - same trail: $630 - Replacement photocopies of FIS Homologated report: $35

| • BC ALPINE/OKANAGAN KINDER CAMP | | | | • OUT-OF-COUNTRY RACING POLICY | In the spirit of increasing the sustainability of Canada’s winning tradition in ski racing and in the hope of moving ahead with the implementation of its overall national development program philosophy, Alpine Canada is reiterating its out-of-country racing policy. Effective year-round, the policy stipulates that FIS out-of-country racing is limited to selected Canadian Alpine Ski Team and provincial team athletes.
This policy, which is in line with Alpine Canada's overall national development program philosophy, seeks to promote ski-racing excellence through physical training, athlete retention incentives, and steady on-snow athletic progression, rather than through pressuring young athletes into chasing FIS points out of country, especially in the summer months.
“The goal of this policy is to ensure that Canadian athletes are moving in the direction and at the pace that is intended by our development philosophy,” said Mark Sharp, National Technical Director for ACA. (Read FULL ARTICLE on Alpine Canada Website)
