 • NATIONAL POINTS REGISTRANTS
As most clubs are aware, the national points registration deadline has come and gone.  All members currently registered with BC Alpine should have received their Competitor Card by now.  You can check the official ACA Points list or the BC Alpine Registered Competitor List to verify that a competitor card has been assigned.
 • CLUB ADMIN - LIVE TIMING FOR EVENTS

A new item in the BC Alpine Club Admin System allows clubs to set live timing links on our calendar for events they are hosting.  Find this new link under “RACES / CALENDAR” called “Live Timing Links”.

 • NATIONAL POINTS UPDATE SCHEDULE
BC Alpine will be sending a weekly update of new Competitor Card registrations to Alpine Canada on the first work day of every week.  Based upon how this worked last year, the members will then generally show up on the list by Wed-Thursday of the same week. If you have new members that sign up please be sure to have them added to the database before the first work day of each week.
BC SKI TEAM & DEVELOPMENT TEAM
 • A GREAT START TO THE SEASON

Following a successful November training block in Panorama that included dryland, skiing, mental training and work with a sport dietitian, the athletes attended an Alpine Canada Super Camp for all the provincial teams from around the country.  This was a great initiative that allowed for low volume, high intensity training in a highly competitive environment.  It also gave everyone a chance to see where they stacked up in slalom, GS and super G.

The teams have been racing almost non-stop since the beginning of December. Their results have been outstanding, with top-15 and junior podium results from Serwa, Terwiel, Simmerling, Leighton, Whitney, Thomsen, Pridy and Hadley. Read all about them on the front page of www.bcalpine.com.

Athletes and coaches alike are looking forward to some well-deserved time at home to rest and visit with family and friends.  It won't be long before they hit the road again in early January - we'll keep you posted!

OFFICIALS
 • UPDATE FROM BRUCE HOLLIDAY

If your club is planning an Officials Course, please contact your zone representative to have the details posted on the BC Alpine web-calendar. The dates of your course will show up along side scheduled races, ANGSL events etc, and will be identified by a colour designated for the Officials Program. This will allow people from other areas, who might be interested in gaining their officials certification, to see what is available and to sign up. You will be required to provide dates, location, times and an instructor's name and contact information. If the instructor is not yet named, please supply contact info for an individual to whom registrants can respond.

All the TD assignments are now posted on the calendar with each event. A new feature this year is the “TD Introduction Letter” which is to be sent by the TD to the ROC introducing him/herself and beginning the communication between them. Please check the calendar for assignments.

For those hosting FIS races and ultimately having to send results and reports to FIS, please note the following:
- Send Results to alpineresults@fisski.ch
- Send TD Reports and Timing Reports to boehlen@fisski.ch

As this will be the last update on behalf of the officials program for 2006, we wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season with much success in your ski racing endeavours, both as individuals and as clubs.

ARNE LUND PROGRAMS UPDATE
 • PONTIAC GMC CUP STANDINGS

It's still early in the season, but here are the PONTIAC GMC CUP STANDINGS as of December 19, 2006.  Check back for updates!

 • APEX KINDER B2B CAMP REPORT
December 1 to 4 at Apex Mountain Resort:  What a great camp!  The coaches really pushed the kids hard – we did dryland testing on the first day then moved right into a ‘super session’ on day 2 with three training blocks on-snow in one day: morning GS, afternoon GS and an evening slalom session.  On day 3 we trained two GS sessions with more focus on technique and fewer runs.  On the final day we held GS time trials to wrap things up.  The coaches were impressed with the dryland testing fitness levels and the ability (and willingness) of the athletes to be pushed - no one complained.  Rebekah teBulte of the Red Mountain Racers was our ‘camp warrior’ - she persevered through everything we could throw at her and she kept pushing herself harder.  I would like to thank all the coaches - Craig, Bernie, Sean, Chris and Trevor - for making sure the camp ran smoothly.  I hope to get individual camp reports out to all the athletes in the coming weeks.
